This means that customers pay only for the services they need, for as long as they need them, without the need for long-term contracts or complex licensing. Amazon Lex bots are designed for either a request-response interaction or a continuous streaming conversation. In a request and response interaction, each user input (voice or text) is processed as a separate API call. As such, users can try Amazon Lex for free. They can process up to 10,000 text queries and 5,000 speech queries or speech intervals per month for the first year at no charge. However, subsequent requests will be priced based on usage.
